AHCA signs $44 million deal with Affiliated Computer Services

Healthcare Administration signed a five-year, $44 million contract with Affiliated Computer Services.

This Dallas based firm have business of processing and information technology services to commercial and government clients, will provide a third party liability program for Florida Medicaid, the company said in a release.

Under the terms of the deal, Affiliated Computer help will pursue third party recovery sources such as commercial health insurance plans, Medicare, casualty, trust, estate and annuity plans. The program is designed to save the state’s Medicaid program money by identifying alternative insurance sources prior to paying claims, the release said.

AHCA manages Florida’s $16 billion Medicaid program. It also licenses and regulates health care facilities and health maintenance organizations and publishes health care data and statistics.
